Simpson was born in Lima, Ohio on February 11, 1997 to Bobbie Carter (and Quincey Simpson). Simpson was raised in a socioeconomic environment where he was blessed with a father. Since second grade, he was a Lima Senior High School ball boy. His father was the assistant coach of the Lima Senior basketball team. Simpson used to spend half an hour each morning dribbling basketball. When he arrived at high school, he would work out for one-half to two hours practicing basketball drills.
